Murphy’s Shirts - Designed by a Dancer for Dancers -Introductory Price £20, plus p&p.

Murphys–shirts are made from a special Supercool material, a lightweight fabric designed to be highly functional which is woven to create a series of slots to siphon moisture away from your body. The difference with this unique design is that the moisture then evaporates so that by the time it reaches the outer layer, it leaves the shirt dry to the ladies touch. You will find the shirt helps maintain a lower body temperature, the heat is allowed to dissipate through the fabric, helping you stay comfortable for longer. You will find you spend less time changing, more time dancing!! Most of us are aware of the importance of staying cool and fresh and these shirts go a long way towards keeping us that way.

Over the ten years of dancing, Murphy observed that whilst there were always plenty of dance clothes for ladies, there was virtually nothing for men. As men make up almost 50% of dancers it seemed somewhat unfair. Why should men not be able to have something cool but smart and comfortable to wear?

Murphy decided to go with his instinct and get on with designing the ideal “Dance Shirt” which looked right, and, more importantly, was comfortable to dance in. It needed to be non-iron, drip dry, and above all, alleviate the perspiration problem.

Murphy had a favourite ‘stay dry’ sports shirt which he bought in Australia when he was guest teaching with Pam for Mark Harding in Sydney, and it just felt great to dance in. The fabric was so different from all the other “breathable shirts” he had tried before so he cut it up and sent off samples to around forty different companies located on the internet around the world until he found a manufacturer who met all his requirements as to design and fabric. They then made up a number of sample shirts which Murphy distributed round to a few dance colleagues and received a big thumbs up! He’s now confident that he has a very practical and affordable garment which will go a long way to curing the perspiration problem and, more importantly, pleasing to the ladies who like us to be cool and dry to dance with.

Hopefully men will enjoy not having to take a number of shirts each time they go dancing. A quick shower, grab a “Murphys-Shirt” no ironing, and out the door!

The first batch of “Murphys-shirts” are now available in Black or White in sizes – M, L, XL, XXL. More shirts will soon be available in a range of colours and styles, including long sleeves and T shirts. They are designed to be smart/casual, suitable for men or ladies.

A discreet logo appears on the left side of the shirt leaving adequate room on the garment for screen printing or embroidery to individual requirements. Murphy can assist with this service if required.

Antrobus village hall was once again buzzing with another Funtastic Freestyle on
April 30th - and Cheshire's finest swing singer David G Hollington gave another
super cabaret performance with some jive classics.

After our break on May 3rd normal service is resumed on May 10th, plus our 5th
Funtastic Freestyle of 2010 is a little earlier in the month than usual on Friday
May 14th.

June, Ralph Angela and Dene are hosting these brand-new Lindy Hop classes
which will guide the absolute beginner and modern jiver toward Lindy-
Heaven in easy to manage chunks. Coming from a modern-jive background
they know just how to make that transition to be able to dance to swing

The blackpool Modern Jive Championships will be held on the 4th ,5th & 6th June 2010.

We will be making this year a year to remember both on the Friday night and the
