This event has an earlier start time of 7pm and replaces our usual monthly ICE freestyle!!

 

Can you believe it…five years on and West Coast Swing UK remains the most established and well supported WCS group in the UK! Throughout the past year our regular West Coast Swing UK team has expanded with Melanie Boyle & Kate Lovegrove joining our already existing team comprising Paul Warden, Catriona Wiles, Kevin Flynn, Rachel Martino, Ed Smith, Peter Fradley, Amy Muncaster, Manal Abuoun, John Rose, Angie Johnston, Jo Jephcott, Sue Lambell & Anita Mason. Our resident deejay Graham Burke has been ably supported by our guest deejays Steve Hunt, Caroline Amblard, Bill Addison & Sarah Piddington. New classes have been added to our weekly schedule and we have enjoyed amazing competitive success within our group all over the UK, Europe & the USA< /span>! Our UK teaching team has been complimented by top International Pros, the likes of Jordan Frisbee & Tatiana Mollman, Robert & Nicola Royston, Jake Haning & Taletha Jouzdani & Heidi Burns with dancers attending from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and all over Europe!

 

We have managed to secure once again the fabulous, large New Windsor Community Hall for our 5th Year Anniversary Party Weekend! On Friday night (yes Friday as the venue is unavailable on Saturday night) please join us at the earlier start time of 7pm for a fun ice-breaker class, followed by fun Charity Jack & Jill contest, freestyle time and prize-giving for the “Most Improver Male / Female Dancers”. Also for the fourth year running the “Dancers’ Choice” awarded to the most popular male and female dancers selected by our West Coast Swing UK regulars. Please dress to impress…Paul requests sparkles!! You can register for the J&J on the night!

 

I have decided to donate all of the profits from this year’s Anniversary Party to Cancer Research to mark the 10^th year of my own cure from cancer. I always said that when I was able to “give back” I would. So our 5^th Year Anniversary and my 10^th Year of being cancer-free seemed like a poignant time! 50% of the profits will be donated to Cancer Research and 50% to the Oncology unit at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital where I was treated back in 2000. I appreciate that cancer touches each and every one of our lives these days, either first-hand or through family and friends. So it is really important to me t hat we raise as much money as we possibly can in the hope of saving more people just like me! Thank you!

Some of you will have met the organizer, Katia at the UK WCS Champs this April, dancing in the Classic Division with dance partner, Grigory. She speaks fluent English so will be able to help you with any enquiries. As this event is not within Russia, you do not need a visa to attend! Paul & I have been approached to teach in…can you believe it…Mombasa in October 2010! Rave Africa is a brand new company, putting on exclusive dance holidays to exotic destinations with celebrity guest dance teachers. We have been approached to be involved in the first one which will run for one week commencing Saturday 23 October.
