Dear dancers Don't forget tonight it's the all request freestyle at Waterlooville Community Centre tonight. Three and a half hours of dancing where you choose the tunes. Great dancefloor, cheap bar and loads of free parking. Join the friendliest dance around from 8pm Sad news, tomorrow is the last of our weekly Sunday ballroom meets jive classes. We are delighted however that we will once again be joined by Flavio de Brito teaching Argentine Tango. Please join us from 3pm for a last hurrah. Just £6.50 on the door. Good news, we will be reinstating our monthly tea dance on the second Sunday of every month from February 12th. Starting at 2pm to 5pm the format is half modern jive and half ballroom with a ballroom with a ballroom/Latin class included. Team update Hi everyone, just thought I would send you a quick email with a couple of reminders. Next Saturday it's our "all request" freestyle at Waterlooville community centre from 8-11.30pm. We are selling tickets in advance at the special price of just £6, and your ticket also doubles as your request card so you pick the songs you want in advance and just hand them in at the door when you arrive. Price on the day us £8 and you must buy your ticket in advance to get the discount price. Thursday nights at Waterlooville have a real buzz about them at the moment, why not join us for our regular classes and see why we have so many smiling dancers. Before I do anything I’d like to mention the brilliant New Years Eve Party organised by Andy and Becky Kale with their team at Admiral Lord Nelson School. Another top class event and I look forward to a year of Friday Fevers and Saturday Showcases. Now onto Team LeRoc news IOW Freestyle This Saturday 7th Jan we will be running a freestyle at the Riverside Centre, Newport IOW from 7.30pm until 11pm. Three and a half hours of great music to dance to with some fantastic dancers. And we play a real mix of music so even if you have friends or family that don’t jive why not just come out for a great party. Club priced bar, plenty of free parking and just £8 on the door. All Request Freestyle Our next monthly freestyle at Waterlooville Community Centre is on Saturday 28th Jan from 8-11.30pm. Tickets are on sale now and in advance for the discounted price of just £6 (£8 on the day). Cheap bar, free parking, great dancefloor and friendly dancers....and you choose the music...you ticket doubles as a request card so you can decide the tunes you want before you come and just hand them in when you arrive. Please Note: We will not reserve tickets, the discount price only applies to tickets purchased in advance. Sunday Guest Teachers Our Sunday dances continue into 2012 and what a line up we have. Running on a Sunday afternoon from 3-6pm they offer a great mix of modern jive and ballroom/Latin music as well as all the facilities that Waterlooville Community Centre offers (see above..I’m not typing them again). A very quick one I promise just to keep you all up to date with what is happening over Christmas CLOSURES The seasonal period plays havoc with dance schedules, here are the changes to ours Sunday 11th Dec Waterlooville CLOSED Sunday 25th Dec Waterlooville CLOSED Monday 26th Dec Newport CLOSED Sunday 1st Jan Waterlooville CLOSED Monday 2nd Jan Newport CLOSED We are open every Thursday through December at Waterlooville and are planning a pre New Year Blowout on the 29th with a fun class and then freestyle through till 11 for the normal class price of £6.50. ARGENTINE FLAIR Our Sunday classes have been seriously hit in December, however we will be at Waterlooville Community Centre on Sunday 18th from 3-7pm with our usual mix of Modern Jive and Ballroom/Latin music. We are delighted to welcome back Flavio De Brito who will be taking another Argentine Tango class and also giving a fantastic demonstration dance. Just £6.50 for four hours dancing, great atmosphere and brilliant teaching. Don't miss this pre Christmas treat. They are selling fast so don't be left home alone Christmas Eve and make sure you have your place booked. Newsletter   Freestyle Tonight Sunday Teacher Schedule Christmas Schedule Website IOW Workshop and Freestyles Team LeRoc Gazette   Dear Dancers   2011 is drawing to a close and I cannot believe just how quickly this last 11 months has flown by.  If you are anything like me you won't have any Christmas shopping done and have no idea what you are going to buy anyone.  However I am willing to bet the majority of you are nothing like me and have everything under control.  With planning Xmas in mind I am sending you this e-mail to let you all know what is happening in the world of Team LeRoc over the next few weeks. Freestyle Tonight It's the last Saturday of the month so its time for our monthly freestyle at Waterlooville Community Centre today 26th November.  From 8 o'clock we will be offering the best mix of modern jive tracks along with one of the best dancefloors around, club priced bar, acres of free parking and fantastically friendly dancers. Tonight you can enjoy three and a half hours of freestyle dancing for just £7 on the door. Enjoy a post Christmas dance for just £6.50 Sunday January 1st Waterlooville CLOSED Monday January 2nd IOW CLOSED Website Update I must apologise that the website has been giving us a few problems over the last couple of weeks, the good news is that the BRAND NEW website is now ready to go online.  I have an appointment to learn how to update it this week and then it will be going live in the first week of December. IOW Workshops and freestyle I am delighted to tell you that we will be running two workshops and a freestyle at the Riverside, Newport, on Saturday 7 th January 2012. The schedule is: 9am-12pm  Beginner Ballroom and Latin. the basics of four types of dancing Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha and Foxtrot 1pm-5pm  Improvers modern jive workshop, an intensive course including dips, drops, musicality and modern jive to impress 7.30pm-11.00pm  Freestyle The cost is just £20 per person for each workshop or £35 if you book both at the same time (that is a long day).  The freestyle is £8. You can book all three for the bargain price of £40 (thats a very long day) Ideally you need to book the workshops as a couple, if you don't have someone to do the course with come and see me and I will try to pair you up. These are intensive but great fun workshops. Team LeRoc Gazette Finally a quick plug, you may have seen the first edition of our newsletter this month at a freestyle or one of our classes.  The December edition is due out in, well December, and if anyone has anything they would like put in then drop me an email at <a href="mailto:info@teamleroc.co.uk">info@teamleroc.co.uk</a>.  This could be news of a freestyle, a review of a dance venue or even a small classified ad (please try to keep dance related).  This is your chance to place a free advert in our newsletter but you need to be quick as I will be going to press (otherwise known as turning on my printer) later this week.   Well once again what was going to be a short update became War and Peace, apologies for that and thank you all for your patience...there is just so much happening...I didn't even mention Myself and Kerrey being signed up to teach at a weekender in 2012 or our new plans for the new year but I have to draw the line somewhere.   If I don't speak to you again this side of the holidays I sincerely wish you all a fantastic Christmas Season, a Wonderful New Year (I have to mention the Admiral Lord Nelson Freestyle, tickets selling very fast for what is surely the best way to see in the New Year) and a very successfull and happy 2012. Team Leroc     News   In this update HALLOWEEN FREESTYLES FANTASTIC NEW SUNDAY CLASSES CHRISTMAS TICKETS Dear dancers I hope this letter finds you all well.  I just wanted to share all the latest team news with you for the upcoming weeks.  There are some particularly exciting events coming up so please read on. HALLOWEEN FREESTYLES This Saturday 29th October is our famous Halloween freestyle at Waterlooville Community Centre.  Traditionally one of the busiest nights of the year and certainly one of the most fun.  We are always close to capacity on these nights and we have been selling tickets in advance as we don't want anyone dissapointed on the night.  Well over half the tickets are pre sold.  As usual we will be decorating the hall and encouraging attendies to wear fancy dress.  Prizes will be available to the best and most original costumes on the night.  The dance runs from 8-11.30 and our Waterlooville venue is famous for its sprung wooden floor, reasonable bar prices and acres of free parking. Tonight (Thursday 27th) is your last chance to buy an advance ticket for the reduced price of £7, any remaining spaces will be £8 on the door.  Please join us for a fantastic night of dancing. On Monday 31st October we will be having a fun Halloween Party at our Newport IOW venue with a fun class, trick or treat sweeties and prizes for the best fancy dress.  Please join us for what is sure to be a fantastic night of spooky fun. FANTASTIC NEW SUNDAY CLASSES Sunday 6th November will see the start of our amazing new classes at Waterlooville Community Centre that will rip up the rule book on how a dance event is run.  They will be every Sunday from 3pm until 7pm (that's four hours of dancing!) and have an exciting new format.  Every week we will be inviting some of the best dance teachers around to come and teach different styles of dancing, from Argentine Tango, Ballroom, Latin through to Blues and Swing. We will be offering a fun jive class every week at the start of the afternoon to get everyone warmed up and in the mood.  The music will be a mix of styles from modern pop through to Ballroom and Latin so all tastes will be catered for in equal measure (we will play modern jive music and Ballroom/Latin in equal measure).  And If you don't ballroom dance yet don't worry as we will be offering small Ballroom and Latin workshops ev ery week for those that want to try it for the first time.  The first three weeks will include Sunday 6th November a Quickstep Class from our regular teacher Daphne Sunday 13th November an Argentine Tango class from Flavio de Brito Sunday 20th November a Blues dance class from Dance Bytes' Dan and Miranda Keep visiting <a href="http://www.teamleroc.co.uk">www.teamleroc.co.uk</a> for details of future classes. December 24th Christmas Eve Freestyle. Both of these freestyle events are at Waterlooville Community Centre I know that the cold weather is now well and truly with us and the nights are drawing in, so why not banish those autumn blues by joining us at our regular dance classes.  There is a real buzz about our classes at Waterlooville and Newport at the moment, so much so that, despite the weather outside, we have to have the fans on full blow.  The great atmosphere at our classes is all thanks to you guys and I want to extend my genuine thanks to you all. Newsletter In this update TEADANCE HALLOWEEN FREESTYLE CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE NEW SUNDAYS BRAND RELAUNCH   Dear Dancers Hoping you are all well.  Just keeping you all up to date with everything that is happening in the world of Team LeRoc. TEADANCE Sunday 9th October will be the last of our monthly Teadances at Waterlooville Community Centre so I hope you can all join us for a fun afternoon of Modern Jive, Ballroom and Latin.  Great music, super dancefloor, free parking, a cha cha class and free cakes. Starting at 1pm until 4pm this is a fantastic way of beating the cold weather blues.  And don't worry, we are replacing the Teadances with something amazing. HALLOWEEN FREESTYLE Saturday 29th October is our annual Halloween Freestyle at Waterlooville Community Centre.  Traditionally our busiest freestyle of the year we normally have over 100 dancers.  Tickets are on sale now for the reduced advance price of £7.  As usual there will be a fancy dress competition, the hall will be decorated and we will be playing the usual mix of great freestyle tracks. CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE We are now announcing the schedule of our Christmas dances.  We will have two freestyles over the seasonal period as we have the last two years, but we will be doing things slightly differently. Our big Christmas party will be on Christmas Eve and we have a super night planned with a buffet, party atmosphere and even a visit from Santa.  Tickets will be going on sale from next week from all of our venues.  If you buy your ticket in October the price will be just £10, in November they go up to £12 and in December they will be £15.  On the night if there are any spaces left they will be £20 on the door. The second freestyle will be a week earlier on December 17th and will be a bargain priced dance at the time of year that most nights out cost a fortune.  Keep your eyes open on our website and newsletters for details, tickets on sale soon. In This Message   Double Trouble Class Tonight Freestyle Saturday 24th September Tea Dance Sunday 9th October PLUS A Whole New Concept for Dance Classes   Dear Dancers Just a quicky I promise.  Just want to keep you all up to date and advise you of a couple of things   Double Trouble Thursday Tonight Thursday 22nd Sep our Intermediate class will be a fun double trouble class.  Not too technical but entertaining and I guarantee a laugh. Credit Crunch request night Don't forget our Freestyle this Saturday 24th Sep.  Three and a half hours freestyle from 8pm.  Not only is entry a bargain at just £6 (less than a class) but the music is all requests.  If you have a favourite track make sure you bring the CD with you in case we don't have it. Teadance Sunday 9th October The Teadance is back, a mix of half modern jive and half ballroom. Starting at 1pm, three hours of dancing including great music, a cha cha class and cakes.  Just £6.50 on the door.  A Whole New Concept for Dance Classes I have to announce that the 9th October will be our last monthly Teadance.  From the start of November they will be replaced with something new that will tear up the rulebook on how dance classes and dances are run.  I can't say anymore right now except that this is the most exciting thing I have worked on since I started dancing and you are all going to absolutely LOVE IT.  I will keep you posted but the announcement of the new format will be announced at the next Teadance on 9th October so if you want to find out what is going to be happening... be there. I know a couple of you out there have an inkling of what we may be planning, I promise you all it is going to be so much better than you are imagining.  November is going to be the time to be part of Team LeRoc.
